This month is Wheel of Torture. I'm sure I'll get a lot of questions and confusion. We're setting up a game show. We'll have volunteer contestants from the studio audience which will be picked at random to play. The Amazing Myke Mueller will be our game show host. The contestant will spin the wheel and whatever it lands on is what they will have to endure from the karcus. If they win, they get a prize. If not, they'll be shamed and humilated to the point of repulsion from the audience.

hmm..

the dyan moon scent does not look like it's something i would get :( and i'm not particularly in luff with the shirt either :(

there are a few new carnaval scents i wouldn't mind trying...i'm currently in debate over the torture queen and pickled imp.

i'm curious as to what exactly chrome smells like and ambregris is hit & miss with me depending upon how much is in the scent...i hope that since it's later on the list, it's not much...might be fine after it ages a while.

pickled imp is weird as i'm not sure about pine sap. pine usually turns into pine cleaner on me, again hoping that it's on the last part of the list & it's not a huge amount. the first 3 ingredients sound yummy though.

so far i'm certain that clemence, inez, and the grindhouse scents sound absoultely yummy.

i wish i could wear incense scents without turning them into band-aid smell

i'm also curious about this one:
CYTHEREA
White sandalwood, patchouli, white amber, orris, bourbon vanilla, champaca flower, and kush.

but what does kush & champaca flower smell like? orris is hit & miss with me...

i'm procrastinating on coloring my hair...

soo....i just picked up my order from loreto's etsy shop

i ordered 2 custom blend perfume's with the profile. 1 for me, 1 for me mum.

i'm not sure what my mom's smells like yet, it came wrapped in pink paper and with a ribbon and boxed, so i have to wait until tomorrow to sniff. it looks really interesting and i want to sniff it NOW!

my mom's scent in an alcohol based in a glass atomizer:
top notes: lilac, magnolia, orchid, honeydew melon, plum, elemi
middle notes: rose & jasmine
base notes: moroccan amber, civet (v), sandal wood

my scent is very very interesting. i'm not sure i love it, but i don't exactly hate it either. one thing i've learned is that i have to let it sit and marinate like a lot of bpal scents i'm not certain on. i did notice i had to really get it mixed up as it's serparated...so if its not mixed well prior to application, i get lots of anise and nothing else. i'll do another review in a month or two and see how it's turned out.

the profile analysis i filled out is really spot on - kinda weird! it did point out i should wear heavier scents on colder days since i do have a problem with longevity and not to rub the perfume into the skin since it damages the molecular structure (i do have a tendancy to mash my wrists together). the only thing that i'm kinda not certain is right is that i have some fashion sense.

reading about why she chose the oils she did, it's pretty cool. a lot were based on my sun sign (supposed to provide peace, protection, and love), a few were based on my favorite scents, and a few were based on the different parts of the questionnaire.

my scent has MANY ingredients - i'm assuming it's because i can't ever decide on anything...and i like lots of stuff.
top notes: anise, lavendar, jungle gardenia, bayberry, basil, bay, carnation
middle: dragon's blood, rose, vanilla, rosewood, cedar atlas
base: sandalwood, moroccan amber, red musk (egyptian), patchouli

in the vial: i get hit with anise and lavendar
wet: anise, lavendar, a little floral is peeking out
dry: not much difference - can't really smell any of the base notes or the middle notes, i'm getting all tops

i keep sniffing my wrist. it's really not bad, but the anise needs time to calm down. this might take a couple months, but i'm willing to wait. i finally decided after testing my imp of kabuki that i really like it - the anise & cherry have calmed down quite a bit and the scent is just beautiful. i have a feeling my scent needs time to settle down.

the entire package was paid for on 4-29 and i submitted the profiles to her on 4-30 and everything was made on 4-30 and i just picked it up today! super fast TAT!!! i didn't get the diamond shaped roll-on bottle, instead i got a 1/2 oz amber vial (which looks neat because it's taller than the bpal bottles and looks scientisty and stuff).

everything is kept on file so if you never need to refill, it's pretty easy!

and, it came with a nice hand written note and little cards with the notes listed on them :)

i'm honestly wanting to try doing another profile and see what happens with that one.

so here's the monthly baka-gosu radio download!

it's the stuff that i absolutely loved and really liked for 2007 (cds that came out in 2007). i did notice my taste in music was changing this year. i was really disappointed by a lot of harsh electro/industrial or whatever the heck its called being all cookie cutter and bland. i guess thats why i've given a lot of the newer pronoize bands such low ratings and given the old school yelworc and suicide commando such high marks. sorry if you get hurt by the comments...it's not my intent but it's honest feedback.

(and yes, siouxsie really works after yelworC)

1. 5F-X : the xenomorphians - your friendly invasion ***
not bad for 5f-x. more of the same style as 5f-55 actually. glitching...computers. you cant go wrong.

2. c/a/t : point of no return **
disappointing. i had really high hopes for this one and the vocals just ruined the music. still, it's not bad for a first attempt for trying vocals. as it stands, this would not be one i would recomend to someone who wanted to get their feet wet with c/a/t.

3. caustic : booze up & riot ***
caustic. matt's humor. it's good. tongue in cheek and the first half is really groovy.

4. cervello elettronico : negate the instigator *****
if you haven't puchased this baby, you should be ashamed of yourself. it's great from start to finish and i love listening to it at work and while driving. so many noises and pure ear candy. gets your booty shaking.

5. chamber : transitions *****
i love this disc. that's the goth girl in me. beautiful music and deep vocals like nick cave. can't go wrong...oh and hey, they play real instruments versus being all programmed on a computer.

6. diary of dreams : nekrolog 43 ****
more of the same from DOD. can't go wrong, but certainly not as great as some other releases. the formula hasn't changed so you can't really be disappointed.

7. escape with romeo : emotional iceage (2cd) *****
absolutely brilliant! i got this cd and it didn't leave the cd player for a good long while. the first disc is awesome start to finish and i neglected the 2nd disc for over a month because i was addicted to the first disc. seriously brilliant goth music.

8. fabrikC : impulsgeber ***
more stuff off the pronoize label. not bad, nothing to write home about either. i hardly listen to this outside of dj'ing.

9. johnette napolitano : scarred ****
i saw johnette solo this year, and she did play a bunch of accoustic stuff off this new cd and it was good. then again, i've always liked johnette's powerful voice. it's not goth, it's more pop, and all grown up and just not easily classified.

10. marsheaux : peek a boo/ebay queen (2cd) *****
YUMMMM!!!! beautiful pop music! peek a boo is brilliant and it hasn't left the cd player since i got it. it's catchy. it makes me dance in my cube at work. makes the day better when it's been shitty. i can't stop recommending this set.

11. pink turns blue : ghost ***
something different than i'm used to listening to. gloomy, slightly post punk/goth/new wave...the production and mastering is beautiful.

12. necessary response : blood spills not far from the wound *
what a waste of money and the biggest disappointment this year. only 1 song i like and i already had a copy of it from another comp i picked up this year.

13. noisuf-x : the beauty of destruction ***
another pronoize cd. it's not bad, it's not memorable either.

14. rabia sorda : metodos del caos ***
great cd, takes a couple tries to get used to it and not expect hocico. not bad...

15. siouxsie : mantaray ****
great solo album, some stuff doesn't pop out, but what's good is really good. i do miss budgie though. it would have been an even better cd with his input and drumming instead of having too many guest drummers and no flow.

16. spectra paris : dead models society *****
i love this disc. i love Elena Alice Fossi's voice. the music carries it much more than kirlian camera. brilliant and again...i think i've recommended this disc the most along with marsheaux.

17. suicide commando : x.20 boxset *****
OMG! i love suicide commando and this boxset kicks ass. i adore johan to no end.

18. x-fusion : rotten to the core/bloody pictures ****
i don't know why, but i prefer this over noisuf-x. i think it's filling some void that hocico used to occupy. it's pretty good and i would suggest buying it. then again, i love this sort of stuff.

19. x-rx : unmoglich erregend **
eh. more pronoize. it's ok. more cookie cutter crap though. i honestly don't understand the increase of fake blood this year. does it make you popular? not really. its not going to sell me on playing your music. and what's with the whole sample of "this is how to classify our/my music"? seriously. i don't care what fucking genre it goes in. i just need to find something new to fill up some space while dj'ing.

20. yelworc : eclosion ****
can't go wrong with yelworc. i love yelworc. it's dark, evil, goth as fuck and old school industrial. the only reason why i'm giving this 4 stars is because it's hard to find a track to use for dj'ing. the whole things needs to be listened to as a whole pice of work and its mixed a bit too high, i have to turn down the high & mids on this or my ears hurt. still it's a beautiful followup to trinity.

21. yelworc : icolation ****
still more yelworc! i still loved this disc. and i still have the same response from the previous entry and still give it 4 stars for the same reasons.

22. iwr : cold asylum ***
more filler for the dj'ing. a couple songs remind me of blutengel and its the main reason for purchase. its not bad and not memorable. mediocore electro

23. agonoize : 999 (2cd) ***
more of the same from agonoize. i wasn't terribly impressed with this release. still a bunch of songs i can use for dj'ing so its not a total waste. i haven't been compelled to listen to it outside of dj'ing though.

24. agonoize : sieben (2cd) ***
more of the same. the same review applies here that was above.

25. v/a : when angels die ***
a great idea for a comp. great cause. you should buy it.

26. v/a : machineries of joy vol 4 (2cd) **
such a disappointment. i loved the previous comp and now i have 2 cds of blah.

27. soman : mask **
um, the lyrics stunk. nothig impressive and i don't really use any of it for dj'ing and it didn't go on the ipod and i tried and tried to find something on this disc to like. another waste of money.

to help save everyone from my updates on bpal every day or every other day, i've just condensed everything into a spreadsheet for my sanity...it's also my wishlist.

should you want to see it, it should be public. if you can't see it i'll have to try something else.

i'll probably just post that there's an update, what's been added/reviewed and you can peek if you like. they are in alpha order by oil name so it's easier to find (IMO).

oooh hello purple!

so you wanted some pictures, here is one. and if you click it, it gets bigger! oooo ahhhh. ;p

i picked jim up last night from work and he thought i was wearing a hat! then it was "oh!!! your hair looks awesome!!!"

it's a winner!

it's like he's dating a new girl or something. and! the purple makes my eyes more green - at least in this picture it does.

i think i need to order more purple and do this color for a while. :)

now i just have to figure out how to reduce the bags under my eyes...i swear i've tried every damn eye cream under the sun...and nothing works.
