i'm procrastinating on coloring my hair...

soo....i just picked up my order from loreto's etsy shop

i ordered 2 custom blend perfume's with the profile. 1 for me, 1 for me mum.

i'm not sure what my mom's smells like yet, it came wrapped in pink paper and with a ribbon and boxed, so i have to wait until tomorrow to sniff. it looks really interesting and i want to sniff it NOW! 

my mom's scent in an alcohol based in a glass atomizer:
top notes: lilac, magnolia, orchid, honeydew melon, plum, elemi
middle notes: rose & jasmine
base notes: moroccan amber, civet (v), sandal wood


my scent is very very interesting. i'm not sure i love it, but i don't exactly hate it either. one thing i've learned is that i have to let it sit and marinate like a lot of bpal scents i'm not certain on. i did notice i had to really get it mixed up as it's serparated...so if its not mixed well prior to application, i get lots of anise and nothing else. i'll do another review in a month or two and see how it's turned out.

the profile analysis i filled out is really spot on - kinda weird! it did point out i should wear heavier scents on colder days since i do have a problem with longevity and not to rub the perfume into the skin since it damages the molecular structure (i do have a tendancy to mash my wrists together). the only thing that i'm kinda not certain is right is that i have some fashion sense.

reading about why she chose the oils she did, it's pretty cool. a lot were based on my sun sign (supposed to provide peace, protection, and love), a few were based on my favorite scents, and a few were based on the different parts of the questionnaire.

my scent has MANY ingredients - i'm assuming it's because i can't ever decide on anything...and i like lots of stuff.
top notes: anise, lavendar, jungle gardenia, bayberry, basil, bay, carnation
middle: dragon's blood, rose, vanilla, rosewood, cedar atlas
base: sandalwood, moroccan amber, red musk (egyptian), patchouli

in the vial: i get hit with anise and lavendar
wet: anise, lavendar, a little floral is peeking out
dry: not much difference - can't really smell any of the base notes or the middle notes, i'm getting all tops

i keep sniffing my wrist. it's really not bad, but the anise needs time to calm down. this might take a couple months, but i'm willing to wait. i finally decided after testing my imp of kabuki that i really like it - the anise & cherry have calmed down quite a bit and the scent is just beautiful. i have a feeling my scent needs time to settle down.

the entire package was paid for on 4-29 and i submitted the profiles to her on 4-30 and everything was made on 4-30 and i just picked it up today! super fast TAT!!!  i didn't get the diamond shaped roll-on bottle, instead i got a 1/2 oz amber vial (which looks neat because it's taller than the bpal bottles and looks scientisty and stuff).

everything is kept on file so if you never need to refill, it's pretty easy!

and, it came with a nice hand written note and little cards with the notes listed on them  :)

i'm honestly wanting to try doing another profile and see what happens with that one.
